CALGARY, AB, May 18, 2016 — The grand prize winners in the 2016 Foothills Hospital Home Lottery have been announced. In draws held live on Calgary’s Global News Morning on Tuesday, May 17th, news anchor Leslie Horton revealed the winners of the top five prizes starting with the 50/50, followed by the big ticket vehicles, and closing with the Mahogany Island Grand Prize Showhome and $1.3 million Canmore Villa. The lottery was 98% sold and raised $4 million in proceeds, some of which is earmarked for one of the busiest neonatal intensive care units (NICU) in the country.
Scott Schmidt of Calgary is $898,690 richer as the winner of the lottery’s 50/50 jackpot. The total jackpot reached all the way to $1,705,995, down slightly from the 2015 jackpot of $1,982,370.
Driving home in a brand new 2016 BMW 340i xDrive OR 2016 BMW X4 supplied by Calgary BMW OR with $66,000 in his pocket is George Katerinakis (Ticket #86991) of Calgary.
Sparrow Nystrom of Sylvan Lake (Ticket #59561) also has her choice of two vehicles supplied by Cam Clark Ford (a 2016 F150 Platinum 3.5 EcoBoost Crew Cab 4 X 4 OR 2016 Shelby GT 350 Coupe) OR cash ($74,000).
Also getting behind the wheel of a brand new vehicle is Miles Seppola of Calgary (Ticket #22299) who has his choice of a 2016 Range Rover Sport OR 2016 Jaguar F-Type Coupe OR $102,000.
