Video Tours: See the Heroes Lottery homes!

VANCOUVER, BC, Friday, April 29, 2022 — Get your Hometown Heroes Lottery tickets to win 1 of 10 Grand Prize options, including homes in the Lower Mainland, Okanagan, Vancouver Island – or $2.2 million cash!

Video tours for four of this year’s superb homes (Sooke, Lake Country, North Vancouver, and Courtenay) are now online. So, you can head to heroeslottery.com and check them out, as well as photo galleries and virtual tours of all of this year’s Grand Prize options, which include two homes in Vancouver.

From the excitement of the city to the serenity of the suburbs, the endless summers of the Okanagan to idyllic, relaxing island living, there’s something for everyone in this year’s Hometown Heroes Lottery.

“Open up this over-sized sliding glass wall, and you can enjoy the relaxing sounds of the surf – and you might even see an Orca swim by,” says spokesperson Sebastian Sevallo, a Vancouver firefighter, during his tour of SookePoint – what he calls “a little piece of paradise” of the southwest tip of British Columbia.

“The real story is the view, and nature that surrounds you. Breathe in the fresh sea air, whale watching, kayaking, or how about exploring hiking trails in the protected wilderness around the property. This would be an incredible place to live!”

For the first time ever, this year’s Hometown Heroes Lottery offers 10 Grand Prize options – including two home options in Vancouver, at the ROWE (Oakridge) and The Hillcrest (near Queen Elizabeth Park). The Hillcrest townhome is a perfect ‘headquarters’ for those who love the urban lifestyle, and the townhome at the ROWE offers a wonderful nearby retreat from the daily bustle of Vancouver’s downtown core, just minutes from Langara Golf Course – and it even includes a rooftop patio, so you can enjoy life overlooking one of the world’s most vibrant cities.

Both Vancouver Grand Prize packages are worth over $2.5 million – and this year’s biggest option (featuring a 3,781 sq. ft. home in South Surrey) is worth over $2.7 million.

Other options in the Lower Mainland include a 5,148 sq. ft. home in Langley and a $2.5 million Grand Prize home package in North Vancouver, featuring a stunning waterfront condo at Cascade at the Pier.

“Living here, you’re just steps away from the vibrant life of Lonsdale Quay,” says Sevallo. “Shipyards, shops, cafes, and year-round events… Living at this stunning ocean-front property means experiencing ‘West Coast lifestyle’ at its very best.”

What else can you win?

Get your tickets early to ensure you are in for all three Bonus draws and an Early Bird with 51 draws – and over $145,000 in prizes up for grabs.

The Daily Cash PLUS also returns for 2022 – with 105 days of winning and $310,000 in total cash prizes – and the 50/50 PLUS jackpot could reach $2.4 million.

Winner takes half. Last year’s 50/50 winner took home $1,103,932. This year, it could be you!

Remember, every ticket changes a life.

Funds raised by the lottery support VGH & UBC Hospital Foundation, raising essential funds for specialized adult health services and research at VGH & UBC Hospital, GF Strong Rehab Centre, Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) Research Institute, and Vancouver Community Health Services – for all British Columbians. Ticket purchases also support programs of the BC Professional Fire Fighters’ Burn Fund, including burn survivor support services and resiliency programs for fire fighters.

From rescue to recovery, BC’s front-line workers and first responders – our fire fighters, along with the doctors, nurses, and health care teams at Vancouver General Hospital – are always on duty for critically ill and severely injured British Columbians.

They’re there when you need them. Now it’s your turn to be there for them.

Announcing the 2022 Tri‑Hospital Dream Lottery

WINNIPEG, MB, Friday, April 29 2022 — It’s time to dream!

With six Grand Prize options, including the biggest cash prize in Tri-Hospital Dream Lottery history, you can win big – and support Manitoba’s three cornerstone hospital foundations.

Proceeds raised from this year’s lottery directly benefit patients – and the doctors, nurses, staff, and health care heroes who care for them – at St. Boniface Hospital, Health Sciences Centre, and HSC Children’s Hospital. Since the Dream Lottery’s inception in 2016, over $13 million has been raised to improve patient care, support research, and help purchase state-of-the-art equipment and technology, all to benefit the combined one million patients that rely on these hospitals annually.

Our hospitals are here for you, for life. Together, we can all win.

“Manitobans’ annual support of the Tri-Hospital Dream Lottery helps change – and save – lives in our province,” said HSC Foundation President & CEO Jonathon Lyon. “Recently, lottery investments have supported clinic redevelopments throughout HSC, allowed us to purchase diagnostic imaging equipment, and helped HSC battle COVID-19.”

“Without a doubt your support of the Tri-Hospital Dream Lottery makes a difference,” said Karen Fowler, President & CEO of St. Boniface Hospital Foundation. “Lottery supporters have enabled St. Boniface Hospital to make investments that improve patient care and advance research. Your ticket this year will enable us to offer the best care for Manitobans in their critical moments as we work together to transform St. Boniface’s Emergency Department.”

“Every ticket you buy in the Tri-Hospital Dream Lottery will help make anything possible for sick and injured kids and adults who need these critical Manitoba hospitals. Your ticket purchase today can change their future—and hopefully yours too!” said Children’s Hospital Foundation of Manitoba President & CEO Stefano Grande.

This is your chance to give back… and win big.

This year’s Dream Lottery features over 2,700 prizes (worth over $2.3 million total), including two Bonus Draws for early buyers (worth over $118,000 total) and over $251,000 worth of Early Bird Draws, as well as a Grand Prize Draw with six incredible packages to choose from.

Why buy early? You can win more! Order now and you’ll be entered into the Spring Bonus Draw (worth over $42,000; Deadline: Midnight, May 19) and the Summer Dream Bonus Draw (worth over $76,000; Deadline: Midnight, June 2), plus 26 Early Bird Draws (worth over $251,000; Deadline: Midnight, June 23).

Win 1 of 6 Grand Prize options – choose your Dream Home or take $1,250,000 tax-free cash! Live like a millionaire and take your pick: a house by KDR Homes in La Salle; a house by Gino’s Homes in West St. Paul; a house by Irwin Homes in East St. Paul; a house by Gino’s Homes in West St. Paul and a Signature townhome in St. Adolphe; or a vacation home in North Okanagan (Vernon, BC). All of this year’s Grand Prize home packages are worth over $1.5 million.

Or, take the cash and live your dreams with $1.25 million – the biggest cash prize in Tri-Hospital Dream Lottery history!

You can also get your tickets for the 50/50 PLUS – with a jackpot that could grow to $2,500,000, and the winner takes half – and the Extra Cash PLUS, with $148,000 in cash prizes and 120 winners – including 116 winners of $1,000 cash each and four winners of $8,000 cash each.

Tickets are only $10 each or buy more and save!
3 for $25, 8 for $50 or 20 for $100 (Best Value)

Just as The ACT Arts Centre was celebrating its most successful seasons to date, the theatre lights went dark.

When the Maple Ridge facility temporarily closed its doors in March 2020 in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, all the community’s engaging performing arts presentations, thought-provoking art gallery exhibitions, community arts learning programs, and critical community space usage ended abruptly.

Open since 2003, the Arts Centre is typically host to more than 80,000 visitors each year. Thousands of patrons each year enjoy up to 50 performances of music, dance, live theatre, comedy, family and variety shows in the 486-seat Mainstage theatre and smaller Studio Theatre. Thousands more attend the six to seven varied art gallery exhibitions. Dozens of arts learning programs feed the community’s creative needs and skills. Local community groups used the facility’s spaces and dozens of rental groups provided additional resource opportunities.

How you can help build the bridge to the future

Currently celebrating it’s 50th Anniversary, The Arts Council and its allies have been working tirelessly to bridge the opportunity and funding gap so that its programming can support ever-growing community needs by emerging as strong as before.

The Maple Ridge Pitt Meadows Arts Council looks forward to enabling future arts programming and kick starting its more self-supportive revenue streams, putting much needed arts resources back into an anticipating community. Thank you for your love of the arts!

About the Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows Arts Council

The ACT Arts Centre provides excellence in Arts Programs, Gallery Exhibitions and Performing Arts Presentations, along with being home to many cultural and community events, reaching over 80,000 patrons annually. The award-winning ACT Presents Season offers 30-50 performances each season. These presentations attract close to 10,000 patrons annually, while the ACT Art Gallery sees over 7,000 guests. Our Arts Learning Programs register approximately 3,500 participants annually.

The ACT Arts Centre is managed by the Maple Ridge Pitt Meadows Arts Council: firmly established as the primary arts programmer of the region, a non-profit society governed by a volunteer Board of Directors, with professional management and staff, supported by a dedicated core of volunteers. As a community- and member-centered organization, the arts council operates as an arts resource and forum for arts engagement; delivers numerous member services and benefits; produces many community initiatives and events; and provides access programs such as Arts Program Bursaries, School Access Programs, and Scholarships.
