Wastell Builders Group, trades make major gift to London Health Sciences Foundation
LONDON, Ontario, October 7, 2008 — Wastell Builders Group has built London Health Sciences Foundation’s Millionaire Lottery prize homes for the last four years, including two prize homes this year.
In 2007, Wastell Builders Group, suppliers and allied trades involved in the construction of the 2006 prize home contributed $190,000 to London Health Sciences Foundation. This year they are contributing another $210,000.
“We are happy to have been able to contribute once again and to increase the donation” says Doug Wastell, Director of Operations for Wastell Builders Group. “The generosity of the many partners involved in the construction of the 2007 prize homes made this gift possible.”
Repeating the gift this year, and increasing the amount shows a depth of commitment of the Wastells, the prize home suppliers and the allied building trades in supporting their community,” says Dan Ross, London Health Sciences Foundation’s President and CEO. “We are extremely grateful for their continued generosity.”
Supporting the highest priorities of London Health Sciences Centre
The donation is ‘undesignated’ – the most desirable method of donating as it allows LHSC to use the funds for the highest priority needs of the hospital, including redevelopment, construction and renovations.
“It is extremely fitting that people who understand and are involved in home construction on a daily basis are helping to build a home for our clinicians, researchers, employees, students and volunteers with this generous donation,” says Sandy Whittall, Acting Chief Operating Officer for London Health Sciences Centre. “Donations like this ensure that we can continue to provide the best of care for patients and families at London Health Science Centre.”
