ALBERTA, February 26, 2013 — New Cardiac Operating Room to be funded by Foothills Hospital Home Lottery:
Found on 660News.
This year’s Foothills Hospital Home Lottery, officially launched Tuesday, will help fund a cutting edge operating room for the Foothills Medical Centre. The Cardiac Hybrid O.R. is a very advanced operating room that combines diagnostic imaging and surgery.
Sally Flintoft, CEO of the Calgary Health Trust, tells 660News it will serve all of southern Alberta.
“The goal to raise money for that project is actually $5.1 million and certainly a chunk of the lottery proceeds will go toward that. So we’re very excited about it and it means that this lottery is really urgent in terms of the fund we’re raising,” says Flintoft.
She says they hope to start construction of the unit later this year and have it operating by early next year.
