SASKATCHEWAN, July 10, 2015 — We at The Home Lottery News want to a take a minute to salute our loyal Saskatchewan subscribers, and all the support they provide to hospital foundations and other charities that raise money for good causes in the province.
We’ve written many articles about these fundraising events, and we remind our readers that if you know of a charitable lottery that we should be providing some news coverage about, please contact us.
Here’s a short summary of the lotteries we’ve been writing about recently and their status as of today.
BUH Foundation’s Cash Lottery — Battlefords Union Hospital Foundation’s $100,000 Cash Lottery is the Foundation’s biggest fundraiser. All proceeds help to enrich patient care at Battlefords Union Hospital. The annual lottery last year began operation in August, and their final draw was held in November. Children’s Wish Foundation Lottery — The Saskatchewan chapter of the Children’s Wish Foundation operates an annual lottery, which last year awarded more than $1.25 million prizes, will be back again this year, by August 1 or possibly earlier. Great Saskatchewan Red Cross Lottery — This lottery, which supports the Red Cross in Saskatchewan, operated their most recent lottery from the April to June this year, and recently published the names of all their winners. Our reference page has all the details and links to their lottery website.
Hospitals of Regina Foundation Home Lottery — The Foundation operated two home lotteries each year, in the spring & fall – and they typically coincide with similar home lotteries operated for Saskatoon hospital foundations. The announced the winners of their spring lottery at the beginning of May. In addition, they announced the winners of their June cash calendar draws each day in June. Kinsmen Home Lottery — This long-running home lottery supports the Kinsmen Club of Saskatoon, and in turn, the community work the club performs. Sales ended this year on June 26, and the draws completed July 9. According to information previously shown on their lottery website, a list of top winners will be published in The Star Phoenix and a complete list will be posted on the lottery website on July 15, 2015. Saskatoon Hospital Home Lottery — This home lottery supports Saskatoon’s three hospitals, and operates two lotteries each year – in the spring and fall, just like the Hospitals of Regina home lottery. The announced the winners of their spring lottery at the beginning of April, and they announced the winners of their cash calendar draws each day in May. STARS Lottery Saskatchewan — The Saskatchewan STARS lottery is currently in operation, and 98% sold. This is the 4th in a series of annual lotteries, the net proceeds of which will be donated to the STARS Society to help cover direct costs of providing an air ambulance program from our two bases in Regina and Saskatoon.
