St. Boniface Hospital & Research Foundation’s 2006 MegaMillion Lotto Sells Out


RAISES OVER $1,000,000!

WINNIPEG, February 27, 2006 — The St. Boniface Hospital & Research Foundation’s 2006 MegaMillion Lotto, Manitoba’s largest hospital lottery ever, has sold out. For hospital lotteries, the MegaMillion Lotto set sales and revenue records with the Manitoba Gaming Control Commission with 25,000 tickets sold and net revenue of over $1,000,000.

“We’re simply amazed by the overwhelming support the MegaMillion Lotto has received from the people of Manitoba. The results are incredible,” said Bill Hanson, St. Boniface Lottery Chairperson. “On behalf of the St. Boniface Hospital & Research Foundation, I’d like to thank all our supporters who have helped make such an incredible impact on health care for Manitobans.”

Revenue generated from St. Boniface’s lottery program supports life saving research and patient care programs at the St. Boniface campus in a variety of areas, including heart disease, stroke, cancer and Alzheimer’s to name a few.

The MegaMillion Lotto early bird draws will be held March 1, 2006 at the I.H. Asper Clinical Research Institute with the grand prize draws to follow on March 8, 2006, including the guaranteed grand prize of $300,000. Then on March 15th, the Grand Prize winner will have a 1 in 52 chance at increasing their prize to an unbelievable $1 million.
