Seventeen Weeks In, the Jackpot Hits $237,000

RUSSELL, ONTARIO, August 6, 2026 — Sixteen Sundays in a row now, the same scene has played out in a village just east of Ottawa: volunteers in red Kin Club shirts, a spinning drum, a single ticket drawn, and one sealed envelope opened in front of a live audience — with the Ace of Spades still nowhere to be found. So the eighth edition of Catch the Ace rolls on, the jackpot keeps climbing, and one Sunday soon, somebody’s $10 ticket is going to tell a very big story.

The Kin Club of Russell’s Catch the Ace is run entirely by volunteers, and the vast majority of every dollar raised stays close to home — supporting hospitals, food banks, youth programs, mental-health initiatives and dozens of other local causes across Prescott-Russell and the Ottawa region. Across every campaign, the game has now raised more than $7.9 million for the community.

Seventeen weeks in, the estimated jackpot has climbed to $237,000, with an estimated weekly prize of $11,000 in this Sunday’s draw — and more than $293,000 has already been raised for local charities this round alone.

Buy Tickets

Why It Works

The quiet magic of Catch the Ace is that everyone wins something. Half of every ticket goes straight to local charities; the rest builds the weekly prize and the ever-growing jackpot. So whether or not your envelope hides the Ace, your $10 is already doing good somewhere close to home.

“Every ticket purchased tells two stories,” said Catch the Ace Chair Doug Anthony. “There’s the excitement of the draw, and there’s the difference those sales make for charities right here in our community.”

The Kin Club of Russell has been supporting Eastern Ontario causes for decades — from CHEO and local hospitals to food banks, Special Olympics and neighbourhood projects. See the charities supported here.

How to Play

Buy a ticket and choose an envelope number from those still in play. If your ticket is drawn, you win that week’s weekly prize. Your chosen envelope is then opened — and if it holds the Ace of Spades, you also take home the progressive jackpot. Each week the Ace stays hidden, another envelope is retired and the odds of finding it get a little better.

Tickets: $10 each, online at russellkincta.ca or at retail locations (Ontario only)
Online ticket deadline: Saturday, August 8 at 10:00 PM ET
Live draw: Sunday, August 9 at 3:15 PM ET

A Small Club, a Big Heart, and a $220,000 Jackpot

RUSSELL, ONTARIO, July 30, 2026 — In a village of a few thousand people just east of Ottawa, a deck of 52 sealed envelopes has quietly become one of Eastern Ontario’s most generous ideas. Every Sunday, volunteers in red Kin Club shirts gather, draw a single ticket, and open one envelope — hoping the Ace of Spades is inside. It usually isn’t. And that is exactly what keeps the story going — every week, the odds of that Ace being found get better, and chance of winning the weekly prize AND the huge jackpot get ever-closer.

This is the eighth edition of the game, and sixteen weeks in it is following the same happy pattern as the ones before it. The estimated jackpot has climbed to $220,000, with an estimated weekly prize of $11,000 in this Sunday’s draw — and more than $271,000 has already been raised for local charities this round alone.

From One Extraordinary Lottery to the Next: Catch the Ace Passes Major Milestones

After 51 unforgettable weeks, Catch the Ace 7 ended in celebration. Today, a new lottery is already writing the next chapter.

RUSSELL, ONTARIO, July 16, 2026 — Fourteen weeks into its newest Catch the Ace lottery, the Kin Club of Russell is celebrating milestones that few charitable gaming programs ever achieve.

As of last Sunday’s draw, the organization’s Catch the Ace program has now generated more than $18 million in ticket sales, awarded over $9 million in prizes, and raised more than $7,845,000 for charities since the lottery first began.

Meanwhile, the newest lottery continues to build momentum with an estimated jackpot of $185,000, an estimated weekly prize of $10,000, and more than $225,000 already raised for charities during its first fourteen weeks.

Building on an Extraordinary Legacy

For many supporters, the memories of Catch the Ace 7 are still fresh. After an unforgettable 51-week journey that captivated players across Ontario, the previous lottery concluded with a life-changing jackpot winner and millions of dollars raised for charities.

That remarkable finish wasn’t simply the end of one lottery, it became the foundation for the next one.

Today, the Kin Club of Russell’s Catch the Ace program continues to support hospitals, food banks, youth organizations, mental health initiatives and dozens of community projects throughout Eastern Ontario.

“Every ticket purchased tells two stories,” said Catch the Ace Chair Doug Anthony. “There’s the excitement of the lottery itself, and there’s the difference those ticket sales make for charities throughout our community.”

See the charities supported here.

Momentum Is Building Again

Supporters who followed the previous lottery know how quickly a Catch the Ace campaign can gather momentum. Week after week, jackpots grow. Communities rally behind local charities. New players join the excitement.

The current lottery appears to be following that same path.

Just fourteen weeks into the new campaign, the estimated jackpot has already reached $185,000, while this week’s estimated weekly prize has climbed to $10,000.

If history has taught supporters anything, it’s that today’s numbers often become tomorrow’s milestones.

The next great Catch the Ace story is well underway.

How to Play

Players purchase tickets and choose an envelope number. If their ticket is drawn, they win that week’s estimated prize. If the selected envelope contains the Ace of Spades, they also win the progressive jackpot.

Momentum Builds as Kin Club of Russell's New Catch the Ace Continues to Grow

Last round concluded with an unforgettable celebration after 51 exciting weeks. Now, the next chapter is already gaining momentum.

RUSSELL, ONTARIO, July 9, 2026 — Only twelve weeks into its newest Catch the Ace lottery, the Kin Club of Russell is already seeing the kind of momentum that made its previous campaign one of Ontario’s most successful charitable lottery stories.

This week’s estimated jackpot has climbed to $170,000, while the estimated weekly prize has reached $10,000. At the same time, the lottery has already raised more than $215,000 for charities, continuing a tradition of community support that has now generated more than $7,845,000 for local causes over the life of the program.

Building on an Incredible Legacy

The previous Catch the Ace campaign captivated supporters for 51 weeks, with jackpots climbing into the millions before finally concluding in dramatic fashion.

For many players, that unforgettable finish is still fresh in their minds.

Now, the newest lottery is writing its own story.

While still in its early months, the current round is steadily attracting players who know how quickly these jackpots can grow.

“Our last Catch the Ace showed what’s possible when a community comes together,” said Catch the Ace Chair Doug Anthony. “This new round is off to an outstanding start, and every ticket sold helps local charities while giving players a chance to be part of another exciting journey.”

Every Ticket Makes a Difference

One of the things that makes Catch the Ace unique is that every ticket purchased does more than create exciting prizes.

It also helps support hospitals, youth organizations, food banks, mental health initiatives and dozens of other charitable programs throughout Eastern Ontario.

This round alone has already raised $215,000, while the Kin Club’s Catch the Ace program has now raised an incredible $7,845,000 since it began.

See the charities supported here.

Still Plenty of Excitement Ahead

The current lottery is still young compared with the previous record-breaking campaign.

That gives players an opportunity to get involved while both the weekly prize and progressive jackpot continue to grow.

This week’s estimated weekly prize is $10,000, while the jackpot has already reached $170,000.

As thousands of players learned during the previous lottery, today’s jackpot can become tomorrow’s headline.

How to Play

Players purchase tickets and choose an envelope number. If their ticket is drawn, they win that week’s estimated weekly prize. If the selected envelope contains the Ace of Spades, they also win the progressive jackpot.
