Proceeds

All of the proceeds from this year’s lottery will go towards supporting Phase 2 cardiac enhancements (Phase 1 was fully funded by the 2015 lottery). The nearly $700,000 project will see the purchase and installation of a wider variety of equipment, including:

  • 106 digital networked clocks that will be installed in the Emergency Department, Inpatient Cardiology/Telemetry and Cardiac Intensive Care. These clocks will ensure healthcare providers can record the time of every activity on a continuous basis, and that every clock in every area reflects the same time. One networked clock for all critical care areas decreases the ambiguity that can occur in time sensitive therapies such as medication administration.
  • Four additional hard wired beds for Unit 22: Inpatient Cardiology/Telemetry, adding to the 4 purchased under Phase One. Such beds allow appropriate monitoring for more complex cardiac patients, allow better monitoring of patients on bed rest, or patients receiving medications that require constant monitoring.
  • Portable monitors: These monitors allow the ability to maintain continuous patient monitoring during transportation to other locations for treatment or procedures. These units are light-weight for patient comfort, and can be networked at the site.

In addition to these equipment purchases, renovations will include updates to information technology, and provide fundamental infrastructure for future cardiac programs.
