British Columbia, August 22, 2016 — Do you remember summer camp as a kid? The feeling of independence when you first said “bye mom!” or “see you later dad!” (and maybe followed with an “I’ll be fine!!”). The rush of excitement when you realize that you are in for days of adventure and play with a whole group of new friends. These are the priceless feelings that many of us take for granted, but the BC Lions Society understands that they are some of the building blocks of growing up. That’s why, since 1968, they have been giving children with disabilities the ability to have these same experiences at their BC Easter Seals Camps.
These camps are funded by donations and fundraisers, such as their Christmas Wish lottery. It’s nice and simple: for only $25, you will receive five tickets that will give you the chance to win one of their cash prizes. The Grand Prize is $25,000, with 2nd and 3rd prizes of $5,000 and $2,000.
