BC Children’s Hospital Dream Lottery

Your lottery ticket purchases have a tremendous impact on BC Children’s Hospital’s research programs, which deliver direct benefits to children in BC, across Canada and around the world. Since BC Children’s Hospital held its first lottery in 2002, lotteries have contributed over $40 million to research at BC Children’s Hospital.

• BC Children’s Hospital lotteries are entirely self-funded. This means that all costs, including prizes, advertising and fees are covered by revenue from ticket sales. The net proceeds have an immense impact on the success of their research programs. Between 25 and 30 per cent of lottery proceeds are used to support research. They do not use donated funds to cover any of their lottery costs.

• BC Children’s Hospital Foundation’s lotteries are conducted as a business that is quite separate from the charity side of their operations. BC Children’s Hospital Foundation’s lotteries are overseen by a committee of the Board of Directors.  Risks are carefully managed and they adhere strictly to BC Government rules and regulations regarding gaming.
