About Paws for Hope Animal Foundation
Paws for Hope’s number one priority is to keep families together. Access to veterinary care is the number one animal welfare issue facing companion animals in our province. More animals suffer from inadequate access to veterinary care than they do from intentional acts of cruelty or neglect and the Better Together program solves this very significant problem. This one health veterinary healthcare program not only provides significantly subsidized veterinary care for low income pet families, but also also ensures they have the community social services supports families need to live healthy, safe and connected lives.
In addition the No Pet Left Behind program provides temporary foster care for pets for people in crisis. Whether they are fleeing violence, seeking addiction or mental health treatment or at risk of homelessness because they cannot find pet friendly housing, our foster care program provides a critical support to help individuals get back on their feet and stay united with their non-human family members.
