Hundreds of Thousands of dollars have been raised and distributed amongst dozens of local clubs from Fort Nelson, Fort St John, Taylor and Dawson Creek over the past 6 years, thanks to the efforts of the annual Rotary Community Mega Lottery and its deserving partners. Sports clubs, Parent Advisory Councils, Hospital foundations, Child Development Centers, Out of school programs, Dance schools, and Mentoring programs have all benefitted from the funds raised since the first lottery was held in 2002.
The Rotary Community Mega Lottery is an unique fundraiser, in that it involves such a large number and variety of local clubs. It has been a major undertaking for both the Rotary Club itself, and the clubs that are so invaluable to its success. The goal of the Rotary Club of Fort St John each year, in hosting the lottery, is to provide a tool for individual clubs to use to raise funds and awareness for their organizations.
