KELOWNA, BC, July 10, 2026 — Summer just got even better. The Heart of BC 50/50 Lottery is back, giving British Columbians the chance to win up to $500,000 while helping to build healthier communities across the heart of BC.
Whether you’re dreaming of a luxurious vacation, tackling a home renovation, or imagining the endless possibilities that come with a life-changing jackpot, you can also feel good knowing that every Heart of BC ticket purchased is making a difference close to home. Proceeds support upstream health initiatives that focus on prevention, funding programs and services that help people stay healthy and reduce the strain on the health care system.
The momentum continues after a successful campaign earlier this year, where the jackpot hit a record-breaking $685,385 and Ronald Dunlop, a Kelowna resident (pictured above with the KGH Foundation team) took home the grand prize of $342,692.50. All while tens of thousands of ticket purchases helped fund community programs that improve health and well-being throughout the region.
Funds raised through the Heart of BC Lottery support local organizations delivering preventative health solutions, including YMCA programs, the expansion of CMHA’s Foundry youth mental health services into West Kelowna, and initiatives such as Sport for Life Physical Literacy that encourage children to build healthy, active habits for life.
Once again, the Heart of BC Lottery is bringing together health foundations and community partners from across the Interior Health region, ensuring proceeds stay in the communities where tickets are purchased. This collaboration is already having a big impact across our communities; the Vernon Jubilee Hospital Foundation used proceeds from tickets purchased in their region to acquire a new tympanometer for the audiology department. This critical diagnostic tool helps identify hearing loss and is used to assess six to eight patients each day.
“One ticket creates both an opportunity and a guarantee,” says Chandel Schmidt, VP of Philanthropy for the KGH Foundation. “It gives someone the chance to win a life-changing prize, while also funding upstream health solutions that improve well-being and reduce pressure on our healthcare system. That’s a win for everyone.”
Tickets are available now at heartofbc.ca.
