Since 1996, the money raised by the lotteries has been granted to The Princess Margaret Cancer Centre, allowing it to become one of the top 5 cancer research centres in the world. According published information, the Princess Margaret lotteries are “the largest source of private cancer research funding in Canada and the public support of lotteries has made a significant difference to cancer research and discovery, and will continue to be critical as they lead the way in Personalized Cancer Medicine.”
