VANCOUVER, June 16, 2022 — The marine environment surrounding the Great Bear Rainforest contains the quietest ocean along the coastline of B.C. But with commercial vessel traffic expected to increase seven-fold by 2025 in some areas, the whales that call these waters home will soon have to contend with much more noise.
You can help recovering populations of humpback, killer and fin whales by playing WWF-Canada’s 50/50 Lottery. Proceeds support Gitga’at First Nation efforts to manage ship traffic within their territory and reduce impacts on wildlife.
