The Cowichan District Hospital Foundation was established in 1984 and is dedicated to raising funds to purchase equipment and support patient & resident care at the Cowichan District Hospital and its extended care unit, Cairnsmore Place. A local hospital, such as CDH, is at the heart of the community that it services. Together, through generous support of donors and volunteers, the CDHF has raised over 21 million dollars for improved healthcare in Cowichan.

Our hospital opened its doors in 1967 and since that time the community has significantly outgrown the building, creating unique challenges. Construction on the new hospital will begin early in 2022, with the goal of opening to the public by the fall of 2026.
