Announcing the New Peace Arch Hospital Auxiliary Spring 50/50

WHITE ROCK, BC, March 30, 2025 — The Peace Arch Hospital Auxiliary recently launched their new Spring 50/50 Lottery, in support of patient care at Peace Arch Hospital.

In just a short period of time, the 50/50 jackpot has risen to over $8,500. Help support the good work that the Auxilliary does for Peace Arch Hospital; single tickets are only $5, or you can get five for $20, or 20 for $50.

Deadline to buy is Thursday, April 10.

About the Peace Arch Hospital Auxiliary

Peace Arch Hospital Auxiliary was formed in 1948 by a group of women passionate about having a hospital built in White Rock. They raised enough money to convince the provincial government to build a hospital which opened in 1954. Since that time the Auxiliary has raised more than $16 million to support patient care and comfort at Peace Arch Hospital. The Auxiliary operates two retail businesses (The Gift Shop in the Hospital and the Superfluity Thrift Shop on Prospect Avenue) that support fundraising endeavours.

The Peace Arch Hospital Auxiliary not only provides resources for the purchase of equipment at Peace Arch Hospital and contributes to capital projects, but they also have multiple programs that make a difference in patient and family lives every day. Their BABY LOVE program provides free ‘layettes’ for Moms who need some extra support; their Emergency department programs provide bus passes for those who need transportation and clothing for those patients whose clothing has been damaged or destroyed. They provide both music and gardening programs in residential care; TEA FROM THE HEART for hospital units where an extra bit of kindness and support is needed; a CARING HEARTS program where they provide resources for the extra things needed to break down ‘barriers to discharge’. Recently an elderly man was being moved to an assisted living facility but he had nothing….no dishes, no linens, no bedding and they were able to provide him with a gift card so he could go shopping for necessities for his new home. They were also able to purchase an authorized car seat so a young family could take their new baby home. These seemingly small things make such an amazing difference in peoples lives.

The Auxilliary’s two retail businesses cover all of their overhead so ALL fundraised dollars and donations go directly to support patient care.
