LGH 50/50 Helps Save Lives

North Vancouver, BC, November 15, 2023 — Tickets sales are now open for the LGH 50/50 – the biggest draw on the North Shore. The October lottery run by Lions Gate Hospital (LGH) Foundation helps raise funds to support the purchase of state-of-the-art medical equipment, technology and facilities.

The draw takes place on Thursday, November 16 and the jackpot currently stands at more than $15,000.

About Lion’s Gate Hospital Foundation

LGH Foundation has recently used 50/50 funds to purchase much-needed medical equipment to enhance the hospital. From a treadmill for the Cardiology Department, to specialized sleeper chairs for patient rooms at the North Shore Hospice and a brand new electric cast saw and extraction system for the Cast Clinic, the funds from our monthly draws help our medical teams provide top-notch care to their patients.

Our donors have a big impact on the quality of treatment and care available to patients. Just recently, donor generosity funded two important new units at LGH. The High Acuity Unit provides advanced care to patients with complex health care needs while the Psychiatric Emergency Assessment and Treatment area in Emergency offers specialized care to patients with mental health and substance use issues. More than 1,000 patients have been treated at PEAT since it opened last fall and close to 70,000 people a year are now seen in the Emergency Department.

These groundbreaking new services would not be possible without the help of our donors.

LGH Foundation raises funds to support better patient care at all publicly funded health care facilities on the North Shore. Money raised from the LGH 50/50 will be used to support everyone from newborns in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit to vulnerable elderly patients.

The LGH 50/50, kindly sponsored by the Old Spaghetti Factory, is an easy way for you to support the Foundation. LGH is the hospital for the North Shore – The Hospital for Here and the funds raised will stay right in our community.
