Only five envelopes remain — the Ace of Spades is still hiding as the jackpot passes $1.7 million.
RUSSELL, ONTARIO, October 23, 2025 — The Kin Club of Russell’s Catch the Ace lottery is setting records yet again. The jackpot has now reached $1,721,000, the estimated weekly prize is $70,000, and with only five envelopes remaining, the suspense is unlike anything seen in Ontario’s charitable lottery scene.
Now in its seventh edition, Catch the Ace 7 has raised an incredible $2,250,000 for charities this round alone, pushing the cumulative total to more than $6.5 million raised for local causes since the Kin Club of Russell first launched the fundraiser.
“The Real Winner Is the Community”
“The real winner is the local community,” said Catch the Ace 7 Chair Doug Anthony. “The Kin Club of Russell is honoured this round to present our twenty-six local charities with over $2.5 million to support their valuable work.”
Those charities include hospitals, youth programs, mental health initiatives, and food banks across Eastern Ontario — each benefiting directly from the continued success of the lottery.

How the Draw Works
Each week, players buy tickets and select one of the remaining envelopes. If their ticket is drawn, they win that week’s estimated prize — this week, $70,000. If their chosen envelope contains the Ace of Spades, they also claim the jackpot, now sitting at $1.72 million.

A Volunteer-Driven Success
Run entirely by volunteers, the Kin Club of Russell is part of Kin Canada, an all-Canadian service organization of dedicated members who support their communities through fundraising and service projects. Chartered in 2011, the club also organizes events such as the annual Poutmasters Fishing Derby and community initiatives like Russell’s new welcome signs and Community Gardens.
“We’re proud of how far Catch the Ace has come — and how many people it helps,” said Anthony. “It’s about community first, and that’s what keeps everyone excited to play.”
The Suspense Grows
With only five envelopes left, every ticket sold could be the one that reveals the Ace of Spades. The jackpot has soared past $1.7 million, the weekly win is an estimated $70,000, and anticipation is building across Ontario.
