Jackpot over $151,000 - St. Paul's Foundation 50/50

VANCOUVER, BC, February 25, 2026 — The jackpot is growing, get your St. Paul’s Foundation 50/50 raffle tickets now. One lucky winner will take home half the jackpot, while the other half will go directly toward supporting patients, long-term care residents, and their families with compassionate, comforting care across BC.

In many cases, hospital visits are often unplanned and hurried. When patients call 911 for help, they may not have time to collect or remember what they need. Simple items such as reading glasses can often be left behind, and many patients are unable to retrieve them.

Because of raffle supporters like you, St. Paul’s Hospital has over two dozen pairs of reading glasses that patients can borrow, which have been sanitized and reused countless times.

When patients receive the gift of sight, their care is enhanced by being able to read education materials, dietary menus, and medical forms.

“A gentleman was trying to fill out his government disability forms but couldn’t see the papers. He came to the nursing station to try and get more light to see better. I offered him reading glasses. His eyes filled with tears,” says Carrie Bancroft, clinical nurse leader in the cardiac unit. “He was so surprised that he could now see the words and had no problem filling out the form. He was proud and happy when I showed him how they looked on him. Our team cannot thank you enough for giving the patients of St. Paul’s Hospital these types of precious gifts.”

With your participation in our raffle, patients can read again and regain a sense of independence. Plus, your gift helps to reduce unnecessary stress and anxiety for patients around British Columbia.

VANCOUVER, BC, February 13, 2026 — Now’s your chance to buy tickets for St. Paul’s Foundation’s 50/50 raffle! Your ticket purchase supports initiatives, programs, and equipment that directly enhance patient care at Providence Health Care and Providence Living, like an innovative treatment that can switch off pain before it even starts.

Freezing pain in its tracks.

If you’ve ever felt a sharp sting from a stubbed toe or post-surgery ache, you know how powerful pain can be.

At St. Paul’s Hospital, a technique called cryoneurolysis uses extreme cold to temporarily block acute pain signals. Thanks to new technology introduced by anesthesiologist Dr. Michael Jew, this once-cumbersome procedure is now portable and can be delivered right at the bedside.

Using a device about the size of a power drill, physicians use ultrasound to guide a tiny ice ball to the nerve, freezing pain in its tracks.

For patients like Julie Bard, who received cryoneurolysis with her ninth cardiac surgery, the difference was dramatic.

“I was more alert, sitting up sooner, and didn’t feel as much pain,” she says. “I didn’t need as much pain medication, and I wasn’t getting sick all the time from the side effects.”

Your raffle support is part of a bigger journey – one where patients find pain relief, embrace comfort, and step into healing with strength and hope. Get your tickets today!

Win BIG with the St. Paul's Foundation 50/50 raffle.

VANCOUVER, BC, February 4, 2026 — Try your luck in St. Paul’s Foundation’s 50/50 raffle! One lucky winner will take home half the jackpot, while the other half will go directly toward supporting patients, long-term care residents, and their families with compassionate, comforting care – today, and for years to come.

Overall, 60% of Canadians aged 19 to 79 have a hearing problem. Hearing loss occurs frequently in older adults making it difficult to communicate, especially in a health care setting. It creates challenges for health care providers, patients, and residents to share personal care plans or needs; to understand and follow medical advice; and to make informed care choices.

Pocket talkers can reduce confusion, fear, and isolation associated with hearing loss.

Pocket talkers are hand-held assistive hearing devices that allow communication to take place between health care providers and their patients and residents who are hard of hearing, thereby reducing confusion, fear, and isolation.

Thanks to raffle supporters like you, access to pocket talkers are available to patients, residents, and staff throughout Providence, including long-term care homes and acute care settings.

Breast prostheses: Restoring strength and self-assurance after mastectomy

A mastectomy is more than just a physical change. It’s a deeply personal journey of healing and resilience.

The Providence Breast Centre at Mount Saint Joseph Hospital performs 1,200 breast cancer surgeries each year — more than any other hospital in the province, making up 68% of all breast cancer surgeries in Vancouver.

Your raffle purchase helps fund care items for mastectomy patients. One of the items are known as ‘fluffies’: they are soft, lightweight, and comfortable breast prostheses that can be a crucial part of the sensitive post-surgery recovery period. They serve as a temporary solution before a patient is fitted for a permanent prosthesis or undergoes reconstructive surgery.

Designed to be gentle on healing skin, fluffies provide immediate support and comfort, allow clothing to fit naturally, and help patients adapt to the changes in their body post-mastectomy. By encouraging self-confidence, they also promote physical activity and social connections, empowering patients to embrace life.

With your raffle support, mastectomy patients can reclaim comfort, confidence, and the freedom to feel at home in their bodies.
