HALIFAX, NS, May 18, 2016 — Supporters of the QEII Health Sciences Centre have been showing their support for the cause in droves and it has paid off – the 2016 QEII Spring Home Lottery has sold out early! All 82,000 tickets were sold prior to the Early Bird deadline of midnight, May 13th.
All remaining 4,210 final draws, including the two Grand Prizes, Early Bird, and 50/50 will now take place on May 26th rather than the originally scheduled June 9th. The draws for the Grand Prize Boscobel on the Arm Showhome and the Chester Basin Grand Prize Cottage will be aired on the 26th on CTV’s “News at 5” with the winners of the Cash Calendar being announced on a daily basis throughout the entire month of June.
The final 50/50 jackpot sits at approximately $1.2 million. As quoted on the official lottery website, Bill Bean, President & CEO of the QEII Foundation stated “We are thrilled by the continued popularity of this special prize, and one lucky winner will be collecting a cheque for over $608,000…We thank all Nova Scotians for their support and for advancing care at the QEII.”
Following these draws, a list of top winners will be published in The Chronicle Herald. A complete list of winners will be also be made available on Home Lottery News as well as the official 2016 QEII Spring Home Lottery website.
According to a news release published on the official lottery website, proceeds from this lottery are expected to exceed $3 million. The monies raised will be used to help strengthen care for patients at the QEII Health Sciences Centre, in all 10 buildings across both the Halifax Infirmary and VG Sites.
