The jackpot is growing and tickets are 1 for $15, 3 for $40, or 6 for $60 (SOLD OUT).

The Bright Nights 50/50 supports the BC Professional Fire Fighters’ Burn Fund. Proceeds directly fund supportive programs for burn survivors of all ages. From the beloved annual Burn Camp, an annual summer camp for children, to the Future is Mine, the Burn Fund is there to help. Now you can too.

“The best part about the Burn Fund really is how connected you feel within the community. It gives you a chance to be able to reach out to people that you didn’t realize were there. It gives you the feeling that you’re not alone, especially in a big city such as Vancouver. And Burn Camp is such a special thing to be a part of, whether you’re young as a Camper, or you’re coming as an adult to volunteer. It just does such wonders for the soul,” says Burn Survivor Tyler Cairns.

“You don’t realize what a difference you make in someone’s life until you come back the next year and there’s people that remember you just from the impact you had on them. It’s nice to be able to get that support in knowing you’re not alone in this journey.”

Hundreds of burn survivors have attended Burn Camp in its 26-year history. Once these survivors “graduate” from Burn Camp, they go on to become members of the Future is Mine Community for adult survivors. The Burn Fund is dedicated to supporting burn survivors along every step of their journey.

These programs receive no government funding and rely on the support of people like you. Help ensure that burn survivors have the opportunity to access the support they need by purchasing your Bright Nights 50/50 ticket today!

The deadline is tomorrow! As the clock strikes midnight, will you be a winner?

Bright Nights 50/50 Deadline New Years Eve!

VANCOUVER, BC, December 28, 2020 — The Bright Nights 50/50 deadline is just days away! As the clock strikes twelve this New Year’s Eve, ring in the new year knowing that you could be a winner while supporting a worthy cause!

The Bright Nights 50/50 supports the BC Professional Fire Fighters’ Burn Fund and its programs for burn survivors of all ages – from the littlest survivors to adults. You can help make a meaningful difference in their lives by purchasing your Bright Nights 50/50 ticket.

The Jackpot is over $320,000 and tickets are 1 for $15, 3 for $40, or 6 for $60.

The newest children’s program to benefit from raffle proceeds is the Little Lionhearts Family Camp. In BC, more than 950 children are treated for serious burn injuries each year and 74 per cent of these children are aged one to four. Burns are the third leading cause of hospitalization for toddlers in this province.

Recognizing the need for family support, the Burn Fund launched the Little Lionhearts Family Camp in November 2019. Welcoming toddlers, their siblings, and their parents, this weekend retreat supports healing as a unit, because just like a pride of lions, these families stick together. That’s why programming is focused on trauma-informed care for all family members who are navigating their new reality. There are therapeutic workshops for children and adults, and there’s also a fierce amount of play time!

“We have a four year old son, Jules, who had a burn accident about eight months before the Little Lionhearts. We’re kind of blown away by this whole camp experience. Just being around other families who have also gone through a very traumatic burn injury, sharing experiences and stories, and being able to relate to one another, has really left us feeling like we’re not alone in this journey,” said Kate Walker-Renney.

Show your support for these families by purchasing your 50/50 ticket today. The deadline to purchase is New Year’s Eve and the draw is happening January 4, 2021. Thank you for your support!

Deadline Just Two Weeks Away: Buy Your Bright Nights 50/50 Tickets!

VANCOUVER, BC, December 17, 2020 — With a jackpot of over $220,000, the Bright Nights 50/50 is your chance to walk into 2021 a winner! The deadline is just two weeks away, so buy your ticket today knowing that you’re supporting burn survivor programs like Burn Camp for kids.

All proceeds support the BC Professional Fire Fighters’ Burn Fund – a charity whose biggest fundraiser has been cancelled due to the pandemic. Tickets are 1 for $15, 3 for $40, or 6 for $60.

For over 40 years, BC’s professional fire fighters have answered the call to support burn survivors from rescue to recovery. From paying for medical equipment to volunteering their time to put on an annual summer camp for kids, fire fighters are there for burn survivors. Now, you can be there for burn survivors too.

By purchasing a Bright Nights 50/50 ticket, you are helping to ensure that programs like Burn Camp will be a reality in 2021 – whether it’s virtual, or in person. Each year, around 70 campers and 60 camp counselors – fire fighters and nurses who volunteer a week of their time to be with the kids – enjoy a week of activities, connection, and healing.

“I don’t know where I’d be if I didn’t end up attending the camp. It’s a place where I felt understood without even having to say a word. I know that it takes place for only one week out of the year, but I hope people don’t underestimate the positive effect that it has on the campers,” says Cassidy Phillips, Burn Survivor and Burn Camp Counsellor.

Founded in 1994, Burn Camp is the Burn Fund’s oldest Camp program. Receiving no government support, Burn Camp is entirely donor funded. A volunteer committee of fire fighters and nurses spend hundreds of hours planning the annual camp. The Burn Fund covers all expenses for children to attend, including travel from across the province, at a total cost of approximately $3,000 per child for a week of fun.

To support survivors at every age, Burn Camp has expanded to have a Little Lionhearts Camp, a weekend retreat for toddlers and their families, and Thrive, a five-day camp for young adults who have just graduated from Burn Camp. These programs rely on the generosity of supporters like you.

Help ensure that young burn survivors will have an opportunity to experience these life-changing programs by purchasing your Bright Nights 50/50 ticket today!

With a deadline of New Year’s Eve and a draw date of January 4, 2021, you could walk into the New Year a winner while supporting a worthy cause.

Bright Nights 50/50 Jackpot Soars Above $175K!

VANCOUVER, BC, December 11, 2020 — The Christmas lights at Bright Nights in Stanley Park will sadly not be shining bright this festive season, but you can be a bright light for burn survivors across BC by purchasing a Bright Nights 50/50 ticket.

At over $175,000, the jackpot is soaring! Buy your tickets today to support the BC Professional Fire Fighters’ Burn Fund. Tickets are 1 for $15, 3 for $40, or 6 for $60.

Bright Nights in Stanley Park was officially cancelled on Monday during the afternoon COVID update. While the Burn Fund supports Dr. Bonnie Henry’s Provincial Health Order banning social events until January 8, 2021, the cancellation of this holiday tradition means there will be a significant shortfall in the Burn Fund’s fundraising this year.

Bright Nights in Stanley Park is the Burn Fund’s single largest fundraising event of the year and is responsible for raising around a half million dollars. These funds keep the Burn Fund’s programs operating year round, ensuring that burn survivors from babies to seniors have the care they so urgently need.

Bright Nights in Stanley Park will return next year bigger and brighter. In the meantime, we are asking for your support. From purchasing vital medical equipment for burn units at BC hospitals to offering support through Burn Camp programs for children of all ages, hundreds of people in this province rely on the Burn Fund’s services.

You can support this vulnerable community by purchasing a Bright Nights 50/50 ticket. Help make someone’s Christmas a little brighter this year by buying your 50/50 tickets today!

With a deadline of New Year’s Eve and a draw date of January 4, 2021, you could walk into the New Year a winner!
