ONTARIO, April 25, 2016 — All ticket sales are now closed for the Canadian Cancer Society Lottery, and the organizers will be drawing their Early Bird winner this Thursday, April 28. The winner will be drawn from the pool of participants who purchased their tickets before the April 15 deadline. Up for grabs is a RV/truck/cash package that will provide endless opportunities for fun and adventure this summer! This family fun package is valued at $143,127 and includes a 2016 Crossroads Cruiser Aire recreational vehicle, a 2016 Ford F-250 XLT, PLUS $25,000 cash! The winner can select the prize or opt to take the value in a cash payout. The draw will take place at 11:00 AM, at MiraTel Solutions Inc. (200-2501 Steeles Avenue West, Toronto).
Following the Early Bird prize draw, there will be daily cash draws for the entire month of May for those participants holding Cash for Kids Calendar tickets. The cash prizes are ranging from $1,000 to $50,000, and the draws will be from Monday to Friday between 8:30 AM and 11:30 AM beginning May 2, 2016. All of the net proceeds from the Cash for Kids Calendar ticket sales will go towards funding the best childhood cancer research in the country.
The Grand Prize draws will take place on May 31, and the Wheels of Hope 50/50 draw will follow on June 7.
According to the lottery website, all prize winners will be notified by mail and may also be contacted by telephone. Daily prize winners will be posted each day and a complete list of winners will be available on the Canadian Cancer Society website (lottery.cancer.ca) on June 17, 2016, as well as here on Home Lottery News!
The Canadian Cancer Society dedicates 100% of the net Lottery proceeds to research into all types of cancer, benefiting people all across Ontario. The Society’s successes include discovering:
- that the gene mutation that causes retinoblastoma, a cancer of the eye, allowing for earlier diagnosis and treatment
- that medulloblastoma, a childhood brain cancer, has 4 distinct subtypes. Now, treatment is personalized to improve survival and reduce side effects.
- vinblastine, a drug that is instrumental in treating certain types of childhood lymphoma and brain cancer
The proceeds from the Wheels of Hope 50/50 Raffle are dedicated to the Transportation Program at the Canadian Cancer Society, providing cancer patients with rides to their treatment appointments.
