Canuck Place is a home away from home. When a child is diagnosed with a life-threatening illness, parents and caregivers are faced with intensified 24-hour responsibility. The Canuck Place medical respite program allows children the opportunity to receive in-hospice clinical care for complex illnesses, pain and symptom management, recreation therapy and counselling, while their families receive much-needed rest, renewal, and support. Through multiple stays in the hospice, our knowledge increases, and we can better understand a child’s evolving symptoms and medical history, as well as individual family needs.

Canuck Place is British Columbia and the Yukon’s only pediatric palliative care provider for children with life-threatening illnesses and the families who love them.
