NEW WESTMINSTER, BC, January 21, 2026 — Tomorrow, the Grand Prize Jackpot Draw will decide who takes home half the pot in the Royal Columbian Hospital 50/50 Lottery.

Tickets must be purchased by 9:00AM Thursday, January 22.

With past jackpots close to $200,000, this is your chance at life-changing winnings, while also helping Royal Columbian Hospital expand care for patients across BC.

In 2026, Royal Columbian will open the Jim Pattison Acute Care Tower, a 10-storey, purpose-built facility that will transform how urgent and specialized care are delivered. Behind the scenes, teams are testing equipment, rehearsing workflows, and preparing to move entire programs into modern spaces designed for today’s, and tomorrow’s, patients.

More than a new building, the Jim Pattison Acute Care Tower is a thoughtfully designed environment created to support healing, comfort, and collaboration. It will offer larger clinical spaces that enhance comfort, private rooms that provide dignity and quiet for patients and families, and integrated technology that supports rapid diagnosis and highly coordinated care. Light-filled corridors, purpose-built family areas, and dedicated zones for specialized services reflect a commitment to both patient experience and clinical excellence.

Inside the new tower, the Emergency Department will more than double in size, a new interventional “superfloor” will speed treatment for heart attacks and strokes, and critical care capacity will grow dramatically. Families will also find comfort in new maternity and neonatal spaces built to keep parents and newborns close.

You Only Have a Few Days Left

NEW WESTMINSTER, BC, January 20, 2026 — When families walk through the doors of the critical care unit at Royal Columbian Hospital, they are often facing some of the most difficult days. But you can help make it a little easier.

Royal Columbian Hospital Foundation’s 50/50 lottery helps provide much needed funding to ensure the hospital has the latest technology, the best equipment, and an environment where doctors, nurses and support staff can do their best work. On Thursday, January 22, the grand prize jackpot will be awarded to one lucky winner— a life-changing prize that’s still climbing higher with every ticket sold.

The purpose-built critical care unit at RCH will more than double the hospital’s critical care capacity, with 84 private rooms across the Intensive Care Unit, the Cardiac Surgery Intensive Care Unit, and a dedicated Cardiac Intensive Care Unit. Each room supports state-of-the-art monitoring, improved infection control, and a quieter, more comforting environment for families who may be spending long hours at the bedside.

Clear sightlines, modern layouts, and collaborative work areas allow caregivers to respond quickly and safely. These units reflect Royal Columbian’s unique provincial role as the busiest cardiac centre in British Columbia and a destination for the most complex medical and surgical patients.

Together with advanced interventional suites below and obstetrics and neonatal care above, the Critical Care floor represents another pillar of a tower built around the needs of patients and families. As we approach opening day, your support helps ensure the highest level of care remains available for those who need it most. Buy your 50/50 tickets now.

Your ticket fuels more than excitement. It helps fund the Jim Pattison Acute Care Tower, opening in 2026 to expand surgical, emergency, and newborn services for thousands more patients.

Support Critical Care at Royal Columbian Hospital

NEW WESTMINSTER, BC, January 10, 2026 — Excitement is building in the Royal Columbian Hospital Foundation 50/50 Lottery!

The Grand Prize Draw is on January 22, and one lucky winner will walk away with half the pot. With every ticket sold, the prize climbs higher—already reaching life-changing territory. Just picture it: in September, the jackpot reached $179,225, with nearly $90,000 going to the lucky winner. What would a win like that mean for your 2026?

Why your ticket matters: This isn’t just a lottery—it’s about people like Lauren Phillips and her son Wesley. When fetal monitoring revealed subtle dips in Lauren’s baby’s heart rate at 25 weeks, caregivers acted quickly. Wesley was delivered at just 720 grams and rushed to the NICU, where the hospital’s specialized neonatal team provided immediate breathing support and lifesaving care available at only a small number of centres in the province.

Help Make Care at RCH Even Better

Six days later, despite Wesley being intubated and on a jet ventilator, the team helped Lauren hold her son for the first time. Supported by equipment funded through Royal Columbian Hospital Foundation, even the smallest and sickest infants can now experience early skin-to-skin moments that strengthen bonding and support development.

Your ticket helps fund the Jim Pattison Acute Care Tower, which will introduce 24 private single-family rooms, bringing greater privacy, light, and comfort to families during their hardest days.

Every play matters. Every ticket makes a difference.

The new Jim Pattison Acute Care Tower is scheduled to open in 2026 and the upper floors reflect a vision of health care built not only for today’s patients but for generations to come. Levels 7 through 10 bring together dedicated inpatient units that support healing, teaching, and the delivery of highly specialized care for patients across British Columbia.

Level 7 will be home to Internal Medicine and the Clinical Teaching Unit, where teams care for patients with complex medical needs while training the next generation of physicians. On Level 8, Vascular Surgery and Medicine will come together in a modern environment designed to support recovery. Level 9 will house Royal Columbian’s Neurosciences Unit, caring for patients experiencing stroke, brain and spine injuries, and other neurological conditions. And on Level 10, the Trauma and Orthopedics Units will support individuals recovering from serious injuries, fractures, and orthopedic surgeries.

Across all four floors, private rooms, improved infection control, enhanced monitoring, and quieter, more welcoming environments create space for rest, dignity, and family support.

There’s Still Time to Enter for Tomorrow’s Draw

NEW WESTMINSTER, BC, December 30, 2025 — Tomorrow marks the first big milestone in the Winter Royal Columbian Hospital 50/50 Lottery.

By 9:00AM tomorrow, your ticket could make you the first weekly $1,000 winner. But more importantly, every ticket remains in play for the Jackpot Draw on January 22, where one lucky supporter will walk away with half the pot.

When you support Royal Columbian Hospital Foundation, you support innovation in healthcare. The arrival of the da Vinci Xi robotic surgical system marks a remarkable step forward for Royal Columbian Hospital. Long known for caring for some of the province’s most complex patients, the hospital is now preparing to offer a new level of precision in the operating room, made possible through donor generosity to Royal Columbian Hospital Foundation.

Unboxed and calibrated on September 29, 2025, the da Vinci Xi was brought into Operating Room 11 inside the new Jim Pattison Acute Care Tower. Its launch is planned for 2026, giving surgical teams time to train on a system that allows surgeons to guide robotic arms from a console with extraordinary accuracy. The technology supports intricate procedures through tiny incisions, which may translate into shorter hospital stays and faster recoveries for patients.
