Halifax Nova Scotia, February 21, 2023 — Time is running out! Scotia Festival of Music’s Maud Lewis draw is this Thursday, February 23!
Don’t miss out on your chance to own a $60,000 original painting Doe and Fawn in Winter, by Canada’s most famous folk artist, Maud Lewis (1903 – 1970). Bought directly from Maud Lewis in the 1960s, this gorgeous painting was in a private collection in the UK for decades. Scotia Festival has acquired it through Zwicker’s Gallery in Halifax.
This is the third year Scotia Festival have raffled a Maud Lewis painting, and the last two draws have sold out. Don’t miss your chance this year to own an authentic and original piece of Canadian history.
Prices for Maud Lewis’s paintings have continued to soar at auctions recently, with one of her works recently selling for $350,000!
There are only 1,215 tickets at $100 each, or 3 for $250. The winner can either take the painting, or $40,000 cash.
Ticket purchasers may also purchase tickets in a 50/50 draw, at $25 each, or 5 for $100.
To buy tickets, visit the Scotia Festival of Music’s lottery page or call (902) 429-9467.
The draw will be streamed live from the Music Room, Halifax, on Thursday February 23, 2023, at 4:00 p.m. You will be able to watch on their website.
Proceeds from the draw will go to support the activities of Scotia Festival of Music, a 2-week festival of chamber music in Halifax, equally dedicated to performance and education. Scotia Festival has been presented annually since 1980.
Tickets are only available to residents of Nova Scotia.
