KELOWNA, BC, Friday, August 1, 2025 — In advance of the BC Day long weekend, the KGH Foundation is thrilled to announce the return of the Heart of BC 50/50 Lottery, an exciting opportunity to win up to $500,000 while supporting healthier communities across the Southern Interior of British Columbia.
After the inaugural jackpot reached a remarkable $361,110, the Heart of BC 50/50 Lottery is back and bigger than ever. With the current pot already over $175,000, the stakes are high and the impact even greater. While half of the jackpot goes straight to one lucky winner, the other half funds vital upstream health care initiatives right here in our communities.
New to this iteration of the lottery, the KGH Foundation has partnered with health care foundations throughout the Southern Interior, in addition to the existing partnership with the YMCA of Southern Interior BC, to ensure that funds stay in the communities where tickets were purchased.
Funds from the first lottery are already making a difference. They have helped Sport for Life expand their Physical Activity and Literacy Program in elementary schools across the region, providing both in-person and online training for educators. Programs like these increase the chances that children will stay active for life and enjoy the mental health benefits that come with regular physical activity.
Proceeds have also funded the YMCA of Southern Interior BC’s Health Promotion programs dedicated to directly enhancing early intervention and prevention services, focusing on the holistic well-being of individuals in mind, body, and spirit for all ages.
With the deadline to buy tickets coming up on September 5, 2025, there’s never been a better time to help build healthier communities across the heart of beautiful British Columbia. Don’t miss your chance to win big and make a meaningful difference.
