CALGARY, AB, August 2, 2017 — The Stampede ended in the middle of July, but Calgary was still buzzing with excitement on July 19 when the final winners were drawn in the 2017 Calgary Stampede Lottery! The draws took place at the Big 4 Building at Stampede Park, and there were a handful of big ticket items awarded to some lucky winners.
The Grand Prize Rotary Dream Home was touted as the lottery’s “largest, most valuable dream home offered,” with over 3,250 square feet of living space and a price tag of $938,375. Going home to this gem in the NW community of Carrington, Alberta is Donald Wakelam of Nanton, AB who is this year’s Grand Prize winner!
The next highest valued prize was the Split ‘Em 50 jackpot, which reached $1,650,847. That means that the winner, a Donna Wilshusen of Airdrie, AB, takes home half the cash with $825,423.50 in her pocket!
Then there were all the trucks and toys that were awarded! The Truck & Fifth Wheel Prize (valued at $219,614), which included a 2017 GMC Sierra 3500HD 4X4 Crew Cab SLE Long Box and 2017 Montana 3820fk Fifth Wheel, went to Anita Sharma of Calgary, AB. The Truck and Boat Package was awarded to Amber Denton of Okotoks, AB, and included a 2017 GMC Sierra 1500 4×4 Crew Cab SLT Short Box All Terrain truck, 2017 Regal ESX Bowrider boat, and a 2017 EZ Loader M2 4000 trailer (package valued at $145,792).
The Truck & Slingshot Prize was valued at $102,783 and included a 2017 GMC Sierra 1500 4×4 Crew Cab Denali and a 2017 Polaris Slingshot. Rommer Guinto of Calgary, AB, you’re the winner of this combo!
Hopefully Travis Friesen of Calgary, AB has ample storage space, because he won the Truck & Toys Prize and there’s plenty of fun to squeeze into his garage! The package is valued at $86,079 and includes a 2017 GMC Canyon 4X4 Crew Cab SLT boasting a 3.6L DI DOHC V6 VVT engine, a 2017 Polaris General 4 1000 EPS4-passenger UTV, a 2017 Yamaha 125 Motorcycle, a 2017 Yamaha 110 Motorcycle, and a 16’ Karavan Trailer.
Finally, the Harley Davidson Prize went to Kevin Lee of Calgary, AB and the Corvette Prize went to Taylor Assen of Calgary, AB.
