NEW WESTMINSTER, BC, December 30, 2025 — Tomorrow marks the first big milestone in the Winter Royal Columbian Hospital 50/50 Lottery.
By 9:00AM tomorrow, your ticket could make you the first weekly $1,000 winner. But more importantly, every ticket remains in play for the Jackpot Draw on January 22, where one lucky supporter will walk away with half the pot.
When you support Royal Columbian Hospital Foundation, you support innovation in healthcare. The arrival of the da Vinci Xi robotic surgical system marks a remarkable step forward for Royal Columbian Hospital. Long known for caring for some of the province’s most complex patients, the hospital is now preparing to offer a new level of precision in the operating room, made possible through donor generosity to Royal Columbian Hospital Foundation.
Unboxed and calibrated on September 29, 2025, the da Vinci Xi was brought into Operating Room 11 inside the new Jim Pattison Acute Care Tower. Its launch is planned for 2026, giving surgical teams time to train on a system that allows surgeons to guide robotic arms from a console with extraordinary accuracy. The technology supports intricate procedures through tiny incisions, which may translate into shorter hospital stays and faster recoveries for patients.
