VANCOUVER, BC, January 24, 2019 — It’s Grand Opening Week for this year’s Choices Lottery, with nine homes and 8 Grand Prizes to choose from, and all proceeds support BC Children’s Hospital Foundation.
The homes in South Surrey are open right now and are open this weekend and every weekend – including a beautiful 6,000 square-foot home in the Elgin Estates neighbourhood, which headlines a Grand Prize package worth over $2.8 million.
According to the home’s webpage at bcchildren.com, this South Surrey dream home – built by Red Tree Creative Homes – features 6 bedrooms, 2 dens, 6.5 bathrooms, plus a media room, gourmet kitchen, rec room, and a master bedroom.
“Set in a beautiful neighbourhood with tree-lined streets, this magnificent home is the perfect prize for families of any size,” the lottery says.
In total, there are 8 Grand Prizes for this year’s biggest winner to choose from, including a whopping cash windfall of $2,200,000.
There are also dreamy homes in Vancouver – at Mirabel, just steps from the beach of English Bay – and a condo at Vancouver’s Main and 10th, which comes with a townhome in Squamish, Canada’s outdoor playground. There are two more South Surrey homes to choose from, the ‘Greystone’ and the ‘Westport’ in Grandview Heights, and the Westport home comes with a condo at One Water Street in the heart of downtown Kelowna, just steps from Okanagan Lake. There’s also an award-winning home at Kelowna’s Quail Ridge golf community, and an Island getaway at Capital Park Residences, right beside Victoria’s downtown inner harbor.
As usual, all early buyers will have their tickets automatically entered into three Bonus draws – to win the $30,000 Appreciation Reward and February Family prizes, plus the $35,000 Spring Bonus prize – and the Early Bird Draw, which has prizes to win adding up to $350,000.
This year’s Early Bird winner will choose between a massive ‘Vacations for Life’ prize package – which includes $200,000 in travel from Carlson-Wagonlit, plus $100,000 cash – or a prize package including an exotic, luxurious Private Jet trip (for 6 people) to Maui, a 2019 Tesla Model X, and $50,000 cash.
Or, the final Early Bird option is $250,000 cash. And this year, the Choices Lottery will draw an extra 50 Early Bird winners – with each winning $1,000 cash.
You can see all this year’s 3,234 prizes and get your tickets online at bcchildren.com, as well as your 50/50 PLUS tickets and your Big Passport PLUS tickets.
(There will be 111 Big Passport travel or cash prizes awarded, and the 50/50 jackpot could grow to over $2.2 million. Last year’s jackpot reached a whopping $1,763,925. 50/50 PLUS tickets start at 2 for $15, and Big Passport PLUS tickets start at 2 for $25.)
Proceeds raised during the 2019 Choices Lottery will help transform lives for kids at BC Children’s Hospital.
As the only hospital in the province devoted exclusively to children, BC Children’s serves almost a million kids. According to the lottery’s website, funds raised support the research institute located on the hospital’s campus—helping over 1,000 of the brightest minds in their quest to improve treatments, discover cures and ultimately push the boundaries of what’s possible. Those very discoveries are then brought from the lab to a patient’s bedside.
Research at BC Children’s Hospital is aimed at conquering childhood diseases, such as cancer and heart disease. It also helps improve care for the one in three children admitted to the hospital with a rare disease. And more than treating kids when they are sick, research is also focused on preventing kids from having to visit a hospital in the first place. Beyond improving care for kids in BC, discoveries made at the hospital have a ripple effect that set new standards of care for kids around the world.
